The AMBROSIA project is pleased to announce its collaboration with the CATALYSE project, a Horizon Europe initiative working to promote the uptake of innovative solutions for food safety across the food supply chain. This synergy brings together two European projects with complementary expertise and a shared commitment to supporting safer, more resilient, and more sustainable food systems.
Both projects address food safety from complementary perspectives. AMBROSIA focuses on understanding how climate change may affect food safety and food quality, exploring emerging risks that can impact agricultural production, food contamination, and consumer protection. CATALYSE supports the uptake of innovative food safety solutions by strengthening knowledge exchange, communication, education, and collaboration among actors across the food supply chain.

This collaboration reflects the importance of connecting scientific research with practical needs. As climate change continues to create new pressures for the agri-food sector, food safety actors require reliable knowledge, innovative tools, and effective cooperation to respond to emerging challenges. By joining forces, AMBROSIA and CATALYSE aim to strengthen the exchange of expertise and contribute to a better understanding of how research and innovation can support food safety in a changing environment.
The synergy between the two projects also highlights the value of cross-project collaboration within Horizon Europe. By sharing knowledge, communication channels, and stakeholder networks, AMBROSIA and CATALYSE can increase the visibility and impact of their work, while avoiding fragmentation between related research initiatives. This cooperation creates opportunities to reach wider audiences, engage relevant stakeholders, and support the transfer of scientific knowledge to those who can use it in practice.
CATALYSE’s focus on facilitating the adoption of food safety innovations aligns strongly with AMBROSIA’s ambition to ensure that scientific findings are communicated beyond the research community. Together, the two projects contribute to European efforts to build stronger, more informed, and more responsive food systems.
As AMBROSIA reaches the midpoint of its project journey, this collaboration represents an important step in expanding its network and reinforcing its impact. The AMBROSIA consortium looks forward to continuing its exchange with CATALYSE and to further exploring how joint knowledge-sharing activities can support food safety, climate resilience, and innovation across Europe.
