AMBROSIA is pleased to strengthen its synergy with the MYMATCH project, a European initiative dedicated to improving the prediction and mitigation of mycotoxin risks under climate change conditions.

Climate change is increasingly affecting the safety and quality of food systems across Europe. Rising temperatures, changing humidity patterns, droughts, floods and other extreme weather events can influence the occurrence of food safety hazards, including fungal contamination and mycotoxins. Addressing these complex challenges requires collaboration between projects, disciplines and stakeholders.

AMBROSIA and MYMATCH share a common interest in understanding how climate change affects food safety and in supporting the development of tools, strategies and knowledge that can help food system actors respond more effectively. While AMBROSIA focuses on climate-related food safety hazards across the supply chain, predictive approaches and risk assessment, MYMATCH brings strong expertise in mycotoxins, predictive modelling and risk management.

This synergy creates valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, mutual dissemination and stakeholder engagement. By connecting their complementary perspectives, the two projects can contribute to a broader understanding of emerging food safety risks and support more informed decision-making by researchers, producers, industry representatives and policymakers.

Through collaboration with projects such as MYMATCH, AMBROSIA strengthens its role within the European food safety research and innovation ecosystem. Together, these efforts contribute to the development of safer, more resilient and climate-adapted food systems for the future.
